Haunting Starring Polterguy is a 1993 videogame developed for Sega Mega Drive from the software house Electronic Arts.
In those years, themed games horror depopulated, just think of Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Splatterhouse, just to name a couple, so it is not surprising that the creators of Haunting Starring Polterguy have decided to follow that trend. In addition to the classic elements of horror, blood and lightly splatter scenes, Haunting Starring Polterguy is characterized by a keen sense of humor and insane elements that pervade the game throughout its course.
The main protagonist of the adventure is Polterguy, a punk teenager with a rebellious soul who was killed by a faulty skateboard produced by the company founded by Vito Sardini. Polterguy seeks revenge and haunts Vito's home, tormenting him and his family from beyond, as he is effectively a Poltergeist now.
The boy's spirit persecutes the Sardini family in 4 different homes, with the final battle that sees the boy opposed to the Sardini dog, a chihuahua who turns into a horrible beast. The game perspective is isometric and the goal is to scare the hell out of people by taking control of various objects found in houses.
